Overview

In most levels, you'll face 3 or more drones that fire large beams at you in volleys. Each drone will fire once in a randomized sequence until every drone has fired a beam, and then the pattern will repeat for 3-5 volleys. Then the drones will rearrange themselves, shuffling to the left or right in the process.
Most of the time, the drones will fire red beams at a random angle, though there is a 10% chance that a beam will rotate continuously instead. These beams can be destroyed by striking them with either of your blades. Your blades deal damage proportionately to how fast you swing them, so you'll need to strike swiftly, though you can destroy any beam with either of your blades.

Periodically, drones will fire special beams that each must be dealt with in a specific way. The color of the drones indicates what type of special beam they fire. Though these beams deal more damage, your blades will absorb some of the endurium released when you destroy them. After absorbing 100 endurium charge points, the air around you will flash with a brilliant light to signify that you have gained a full charge. You will continue to see motes of light floating around until you use your charge to launch an endurium wave at a drone from one of your blades.

When you gain endurium, you will momentarily see a blue charge meter indicating how close you are to a full charge. You can also activate a hovering info-screen that floats in the battlefield so you can see your current stats at any time. This can be turned on in the settings menu under preferences.
Increasing Challenge
As you progress, you'll face more drones at once. Each drone will increase the speed at which you'll need to defend yourself. But, each drone will take extra time between shots to raise the power of their beams to increase both their damage and velocity.
The firing tempo begins at one beam every 0.8 seconds, though each movement phase the tempo will randomize from 80% to 120% of that rate. Each drone after the 3rd will increase this speed by 25%, beam damage by 10%, and velocity by 20%. |
Progression
Tier 1 puts you against each most of the beam types you'll face, one per level. You'll need to clear every level to continue, and you'll be rewarded with 2 Endurium Wave Modules. From tier 2 and onward you'll be able to continue to the next wave after clearing any 3 levels, and you will continue to unlock modules at each new tier. You can also unlock new equipment modules by clearing all waves in a tier.

- Adaptive Defenses / Energized Strikes
- Thrown Blades
- Regen
- Force Field / Time Slow

Endurance Mode
The heart of Endurium is in its Endless gameplay mode: Endurance. Here you can specify how many drones you face off, and what the target kill count should be and if there is a time limit or not. You can toggle Sixer on and off, as well as set the armor ratings of the drones. You can even set which color drones appear, and whether or not destroying special beams grants you endurium charge. You could disable endurium charge gain and enable Endurium Bolts to create a stage where you must rely on luck more than your stats. This game mode also has a setting to add another drone into the fray periodically, with a target kill count and time limit of 0, this would create a "survival" mode starting from a difficulty of your choosing. Play around with what feels best to you, and share it on Discord!
